That doesn't sound too normal. Three minutes is a very short amount of time between needing to change. The shortest time for me has been about an hour. It's probaly best to go to the ER, and you don't need to be embarrassed, every women has a period and we are not all docters, so how are we supose to know? It's better safe than sorry.

Usually anything that really differs from the norm is a sign that something is wrong. I have unusually very very heavy periods but by the 4th day I am almost off of it. You really need to have this seen about. It is always better to be safe than sorry. Trust me when I tell you that you have no reason at all to feel embarrassed when visiting a doctor. Doctors and nurses have seen and heard it all. There is nothing that hardly surprises a doctor anymore especially women issues. I can think of hundreds of things far more embarrassing that period questions. Don't be embarrassed at you. You have no reason to be. Good luck and go to the doctor.

Nothing to be embarrassesd about. Go the the ER. You need to be examined, and probably have some lab work. You didn't mention your age. You may have fibroids which can cause this type of bleeding.

Dr won't say it is normal. Go to emergency room. You will be asked about your usual periods, the date of the period before, the date of start of this one, and get a pelvic sonography done.

Doctors WANT things to be normal. Don't be embarrassed to ask for advice from medical experts.
The sooner you find out what's going on....the sooner you can get things regular again.

Are you in perimenopause? Women in perimenopause often experience extremely heavy periods.
