My periods keep getting heavier. Last night at the fireworks, I changed just before they started and within 3 minutes there was blood pouring down my legs along with excrutiating cramps. I went home, showered, changed and went to bed. By morning it was better but the severe cramps are coming back and I'm afraid it will happen again. What should I do if it happens again. Am I losing too much blood? By the way I have been going heavily for 4 days.

You seriously need to see a doctor. If you dont have a regular dr then go to the E.R. There are so many things that can cause this condition. some are little and some are very serious...Please see a dr... take care

Usually the heaviest flow is around the 2-4th day. Some women bleed heavier than others, but if it's to the point where you have to change tampons every 2 hours for 4-5 days, you might want to get it checked out. My mother ended up anemic because of that problem. They scraped out her uterus and it solved the heavy flow. Talk to a doctor if this keeps happening.

You need to see your doctor. If you are bleeding a lot it means there is some type of problem.I have had the same problem about a year ago and after seeing my doctor found out I needed a growth removed.I was sleep and didn't feel any thing when they fixed the problem. Now my periods are better and i don't bleed like I use too. Don't wait, call the doctor. You can bleed to death.

Heavy bleeding could be caused by cysts, hormonal imbalances, and other things. You should be checked by your doctor so you can get some relief at the very least.
