I have purchased the Grifin digital iTrip and the Belkin digital transmitter. Neither have worked well in my car (a 2005 Scion Xb). I was told that the transmitters are only as good as your car radio and I suppose the Scion raidio isn't very good. Incidentally I did try the Belkin in a Lexus and it seemed to work better. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to get either to work better or if they have experience with a good FM transmitter?
Just an FYI its hard to get a station here where there is no interference from neighboring stations, I live in Philadelphia so there's a lot of FM stations here. Thanks for your help!

I too have had a terrible time trying to get static-free sound from ANY FM modulator. I have the Belkin transmitter as well, and I have found it does perform a little better when used with the optional DC power plug for the cigarette lighter. I guess having more power puts it out there better... but I ended up buying a new stereo deck for my truck. I found it at Wal-Mart, it's a Sony Xplod, it was $89, and it has a front Auxilary input, so that a $2 male-male 3.5mm cable plugs them together. MUCH MUCH cleaner sound, it's now crystal clear. And the cable I chose is 6ft long, so I have plenty of space. The stereo deck itself is very nice for the price too, at 52 watts per channel, it also has a separate controller if you were to plug in a subwoofer (nice if you want bass without a bunch of amps and crossovers!!) I saw tons of other stereo decks with front aux inputs, all different brands, but if I had it to do over again, I would do it every time - you spent some jack on that ipod, and it puts out GREAT quality sound - it's a shame that the static eats it up! :) Good luck!

the best i've found is a Belkin FM transmitter... plugs into the cigarette lighter on one side, goes through the FM transmitter, then plugs into the bottom of the iPod. I've used the iTrip and other auxiliary transmitters, and this is by far the best. The interference is just as bad in Atlanta, and it still allows for some serious blastage. Good luck!
