To keep the spiders away, plant some Osage Orange trees. The spiders HATE the fruits.

The clorox spray is a good idea (don't mix with ammonia). I usually use a hose-end sprayer, a step ladder and a broom. Don't overdo the concentration. I had this problem in Florida and did this exact thing. Mainly it was black mould. My truck was covered with it too.

Spray with diluted chlorox... about 1 -3 and let stand, then rinse when it has done its job. I do not suggest pressure washing vinyl siding unless you really know what you are doing.
