Well, as a person who lives in Japan I am not happy about it. N. Korea wants attention and they are certainly getting it now, however, I fail to see how N. Korea will benefit from their actions.

I hope that the nations of the world will cut off all food aid and let them eat their munitions if they can. All the humanitarian aid does is allow them to continue their military dictatorship and doesn't really help the non-military N. Koreans.

Military action is completely out of the question given that Americans can't stomach the Iraq War. N. Korea has the forth largest military in the world and the loss of life would make Iraq seem like nothing in comparison.

It's called Posturing and it wasn't North Korea trying to launch a few missiles and piss off the USA it was China speaking through North Korea and announcing to the world that we are not into your global domination thing and if its nukes you want then we have 1.3 billion people and we can afford to lose half that easily if you want to mess with us.

I think that the Chinese could put a stop to it in a heartbeat, but they don't want to. N. Korea is their "bad boy" who keeps us off balance.

It's their country and their missles and they warned us about it before hand as to make sure it was not mistaken for an attack. Would agree with someone else here that said it was probably more saber rattling from China meant not to let us get to cocky.

Well it looks like they failed miserably as the one missile they launched was suppose to make it "over" Japan and fell short quite a ways....inept is what I think.
