Depends, usually they want all electronic devices off. If it's a long flight though, you may be aloud to have your iPod on for a portion of the flight. But they are pretty strict when you are taking off and landing about them being off.

I had a 45 minute flight once and they required all electronic devices to remain off.

They made the rule because some electronic devices can interfere with radio frequencies, which won't help the pilot. So rather than figuring out if your individual device is ok, they simplify and say no to all.

After the pilot reaches cruising altitute, all electronic devices except cell phones are OK. Turn off again at descent.

Not when taking off or landing. But during the rest of the flight you're good to go!

You can for awhile. Electronic equipment/cell phones must be turned off before take off & remain off until above 10,000 feet. The equipment must be turned off during descent & landing.

um, as far as i know, yeah. like, i think you have to wait until you get to the height when they let you turn on electronic devices, but then you're fine.

I think so! After takeoff, and before landing.
