I named my pets from common words I use that are culturally based on the anime I watch.

My ginger kitty is called Chibi - which means child or young, but is colloquially used to mean cute, sweet or little. He's certainly sweet - but he's also a fatty bombah these days XD

My grey tabby is called Puni - which came from an anime in which some characters yelled NOOOES PUNI!! when somethign went wrong so it sort of came to mean (in our circle at least) ACK! NOES! WRONGNESS!. Then the "sequel" came out called PuniPuni Poemy and it was so insane that I just had to name our mental, deranged little fluffball Puni. We yell NOOO PUNI!! a lot. He's nuts. He pees in teh laundry sink, opens doors, chews on his brother and generally gets into lots of mischief! XD (hard to pronounce the word though, it's more like the 'oo' in look).

I have had a bunny called Chockie Bikki (biscuit being australian for cookie) because he was brown at both ends with a white stripe up the middle. XD

Pet names are great, when they're creative and fun!

My best friend in the whole world, is my Portuguese Water Dog named Boscar. We named him that, because he just looked like such a Boscar, when he was a puppy. He is the smartest animal I know, and that includes all the people I know, as well. I would rather spend time, playing and relaxing with Boscar, then do anything else in the world.

Satin. I actually wrote a series of stories about a cat named Satin that had fur that felt like Satin. When I got my cat I figured the name fit, though every now and then I would change it to Satan instead of Satin when he was mischievous.

Denver. I liked the cartoon Denver the last Dinosaur when I was little. I don't know what made me name a cat that, but he responded and he was Denver since.

We have:
Rottweiler/Collie mix - Roxy it just fit her.

Basset Hound - Flash (before the Dukes of Hazard movie came out!) he was named after the original Flash on the D.O.H.

Cat - Bootsie she is black and white and as you can guess she has white boots and since she was a girl we named her Bootsie to make her name more feminine than Boots.

Cat - Sweetie - Because she is the absolute sweetest cat that I have ever met, she has no fear whatsoever of humans (kind of scary, but since she is an inside cat it's ok.)

Alexander Kyle. Because I wanted him to have a first and middle name, possibly make him the first cat to be named that way, and those names went together the best. The pound had named him Jessie James, but I didn't want a train robber in my family.

Tip-A-Ring = sable red hair with a white ring around her neck and white tipped tail and paws

Coco Puff = a light coco cream color with puffy hair

Sabrina = a cross between Santi ( another dog I had until she passedon) and Brina a close friend of mines nickname

Jesse James = because he's hell on wheels since he learned to walk

Bird's name is TEAK because she is a teal color and she likes to squeak a lot

Cats = Windy = he puts his head out any open window it can find and enjoys the breeze/wind
Stowaway = because it jumps in and out of my sons bedroom window thinking we don't know she's there or she will come in get a few bites of food and leave

dog = Baby because she is so filthy/flea ridden/hurt by her old owner she is skiddish of anyone getting to close to her although now I am getting more able to pet her hopefully she will trust me soon so I can bath her.

My cats names are Jinx, Dax, Chloe

my moms are Sharkie and Waffles

I named jinx after my old cat jinx who was poisoned and passed away. Jinx is now 6 years old

Chloe i found on petfinder.org and fell in love with her. Her name was Annie at the time. She and the rest of the litter were found abandoned behind a retirement home. She and her brother "who was already adopted" were the only ones who servived. I boyfriend named her Chloe because he always liked the name and it just seem to fix her personality.

Dax I got from the same people i found chloe. When i was emailing the lady who I got chloe from about how she was doing she happen to mention taking care of this gray and white tux kitten with a pink nose. Right away i wanted to see his picture. It was love at first site. When I saw him in person i had to have him right then and there. They Named him Dax and i kept him as Dax because it fit him. He is my lil Daxie Durby

Sharkie got his name because he is an attack cat. My mom rescued him from people who where gonna put him down cause he "scrached the newborn baby" Sharkie at the time was called "charcoal" he was only 8 weeks old. He is my moms gaurd cat. He attacks anyone who comes near her. I started calling him sharkie cause he sneaks up like a shark.

Waffles got his name because my brother saw him sleeping all curled up once and said he reminded him of a waffle at Denny's so the name waffles just stuck to him lol

2 cats: A male tabby called Kitty (I was only 9 when I got him, and he was my first pet) and a femal ginger called Flame (she's orange and a little hellion).

I also have a bunch of fish but only ever named 1, he was the biggest and swam around bumping into the others like he owned the tank, so I named him Gorgeous George (the name of the prize fighter boxer from the movie Snatch) the Big Fish He also stuck his head out of the water and ate from my fingers.
