Only CD-R's and CD-RW run the risk of the information being lost because the information is stored in a dye or coating on the CD. But if you store them properly, you shouldn't have a problem for a long time.
CD's are read by light (aka...laser) and so there is no wear and tear on the CD. Only if you actually damage the CD...
VINYL's are read by a needle, which "can" wear down the record itself if not taken care of, cleaned, and needles replaced when they get worn/broken (scratching on a turntable, etc)

A cd NEVER runs out of music. Unlike vinyl records, CDs are made with new, more reliable technology, and while they may become scratched, even during use (but that is only over a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG period of time), there is no danger of them ever running out of music.

Cds no as there is no physical needle touching the disc it is a laser. the only reason it will stop playing music is if the surface of the disc gets damaged.

no unless you totally scrach the cd because of a crappy cd player. why would they make a cd that has limited listening? that'd be cheap
