it's just a coincidence they have the same last name.
No relation that I can find
But Eileen is married to Vincent Van Patten son of Dick Van Patten the father on 8 is enough

Good question. Being that they have a romance (of sorts) on the show, I would guess they just share the same last name.

The woman usually changes her last name when she gets married. That's why married couples have the same last name.
