The author of the the Harry Potter Books has said that 2 of the characters will die in the final book, likely to come out next year. who do you think they will be - villains or heroes (heroines). Could it be Harry himself?

J K has said that two main characters are going to die.
I would assume that the two characters who are going to die do not include Voldemort.
My first guess would be Severus Snape making the supreme sacrifice and demonstrating why Dumbledore had such faith in him.
Secondly it is my guess that love will have some role to play in the demise of Voldemort. This being the case I would speculate that either Harry or Ginny Weasley will sacrifice themselves to save the other.

There is a strong rumour that she has spoken in depth to Robbie Coltrane about the character of Hagrid, and has sworn him to secrecy. That may be a clue.
It is also worth considering that she may want to kill off Harry to avoid the possibility of anyone else writing unauthorised sequels to the series ... like Kingsley Amis did with James Bond.

not just two characters will be killed off.. what she meant was that two additional characters will be killed off that she hadn't planned on killing off when she first began writing the books. so AT LEAST two people will die... who knows how many more though. i think harry will definitely die.. and voldemort.. some of the weasleys, neville and draco... i think ron and hermione are safe though.. as well as lupin and tonks..

Nobody knows exactly, but J.K. Rowling's motto is that life isn't perfect, but if she kills another goodguy and lets Voldemort win, she's going to have some mad fans!

It's a mistake, she meant to say that everyone will die, they will be in a safari and catch the bird flu
