I'm finding this to be an issue because I know that I'm smart beautiful and a definite people person. I was supposedly friends with some white girls who always put me down by asking stupid questions like why do black girls have big butts, or why are black girls lips so big. One even told me "the only reason anyone looks at you is because of your braids, and if you had short hair like mine no one would even give you a second glance." Is this just me or do others see this to

I dont have a problem with "White Women. They've shaped me and helped me to be strong along with the Black Women. I do have a problem with White Girls. I'm 30 and so are they. Now I hope that shed's more light to my question. There are differences from the beautiful white women I know and the hateful white girls I know. As well as girls in general when we're supposed to be women.

prolly those girls are very insecute and immature.
just ignore them.

as a young girl (i'm white) , i have experienced exactly the same insults may times before especially when i was in junior high.
However if you watch them carefully you will notice that those white girls are saying harsh things to each other not only to black girls.
everybody has been picked on by someone at least once in their lifetime. if she is not picked on publicly she is picked on privately.
so you are not alone.
the reason they pick on you is that they are jealous of you and they are simply racist.
trust me, the more they become mean to you, the more guys look down on them.

Ok Ayita. Ive seen you before and you arent ugly ok (not gay in any way) i too attend secondary school but not a big university. You just started school girl. And i hate to agree with "Professor Sweetback" but I do. You have to not let this worry you. You are at school to get an education. NOT to be find a man. And besides, havent anyone told you? When you go LOOKING for a man those are the bad ones gal. My advice to you, don't sweat it. College is about being diverse. You will meet others. Just you wait.

White people have always had problems with all black people just because we have a different color of skin. For example, if you were a beautiful, smart white woman, would they have asked you those questions, or given you that hair insult-no. I've had the same problem, and it's a big stereotype of black people in general. But if your white friends are jealous of you just because you're black and have braids, they shouldn't really be your friends at all.

I think that you are taking what a few people that you work with are saying and making a race thing of it. Don't judge everyone by an unpleasant experience with a few people. My advice is to not enter into this type of conversation with small minded people. You are a smart girl so use common sense when dealing with people like this.

You are just friends with the wrong ones. My 2 best friends are strong black women and they're the ones I ask for advice and keep me in touch with myself. Those girls are obviously jelous of you.

It sounds that you are very self concious about yourself. If the white girls asking questions bothered you then why didn't you ask them some questions about them? Is it me or are you trying to make this a raciest issue. Which is really something we don't need.

honey, open your eyes. this isn't a white-girl black-girl thing. this is a girl thing. if you pay attention, the white girls are saying just as snotty things to each other as they say to you. girls are b#@%hes. plain and simple.
get a good education and a good job in a male dominated field. those snotty b#@%hes will be frying up burgers. intelligent, successful women - white, black, or green - don't treat each other like that. you'll just have to wait till you grow up, but it will get better.

These people are just racists. It is as simple as that. I do not feel intimidated by women or African-Americans. Who has time to worry about that? Besides, some men love butts.

You sound very arrogant. I bet that is a turn off for lots of people not just white girls. I could also ask racist questions like you but I'm better than that. Funny thing is that you don't even realize that you are exactly what you are complaining about!!!
