The law of diminishing returns states that "If one factor of production increased while the others remained constant, the overall returns will relatively decrease after a certain point."

It has been demonstrated in situations where a task has to be done in a hurry. The more people added to the task than is needed actually leads to inefficiencies & may leads to delays. A "too many cooks spoil the stew" situation.

Jeff Bezos of Amazon has a "2 pizza rule"...
"If a team can't be fed by 2 pizzas, it's too large."
It keeps the team small enough to allow everyone a chance to contribute.

Fortune reports that J. Richard Hackman, a professor at Harvard, bans his students from forming project groups larger than 6. He states in "Leading Teams" that "Add just one more person, & the difference in how well groups of two sizes operates is noticeable."

Although ostensibly purely an economic concept, diminishing marginal returns appears in some form or another in most fields of human endeavour, especially the physical sciences and engineering. As such, it is probably the best-known economic principle among non-economists.

Note that the marginal returns discussed in this article refer to cases when only one of many inputs is increased (for example, the quantity of seed increases, but the amount of land remains constant). If all inputs are increased in proportion, the result is generally constant or increased output.

There are exceptions to this law. So it is not true in all cases.

It depends on the person and experiences. Some never experience it with love, other than diminished sex.

One definitely will if ones life consists of material things and money. The law kicks in on auto.

Yes.
I think the law of diminishing returns is evolved from life only.

Yes. Take your earnings for example. You work your fingers to the bone for your family but do they even thank you for it?
