I'm 18yrs. old. I weigh 140lbs. My height is 5'2. My measurements are 36, 28, 40. I wear a size 9 in jeans and a medium in the shirts. I feel like i'm disgusting fat, but everyone tells I have a nice body. So do I need to loose weight? If so, how much?

Here's the REAL question...do YOU need to lose weight? Only you can say that. I'm 25, 5'1 and I try not to know how much I way, and people say that I have a nice body. I feel like I'm fat sometimes, so I've been trying to do a little exercise everyday and watch what I eat, not be crazy about it, but just be healthier. Makes me lose a little weight, and I feel better. Remember though, most guys don't want a skeleton for girlfriends, they like a girl that can watch what she eats some of the time and goes out and has that extra slice of pizza when you two are just having fun. Hope that helps!
Besides, you don't sound fat to me! :)

Ask yourself. Only you truly know the content of your diet. Only you know what you can cut out to come to a comfortable medium. Then ask yourself, when you go to college and you happen to be the lucky one to gain the freshman 15 are you going to be okay. Also, ask yourself at age 30 when metabolism gets worse and you are just sitting at a desk at the office with no energy, are you still going to look good and have the same "curves". Lastly, ask yourself after you have a baby. Are you going to be comfortable?

Right now you're in your prime, Get fit. Eat better. Reduce sugar. These eating habits stick with a person for life. You're young. Being a little thick is understandable as long as you can maintain it because it only gets harder. Believe me. Weight is completely relative. EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT.

5'2". 140lbs You have a body mass index of just over 25 (25.6). According to the government, that means you are overweight. However, losing only 5 lbs puts you back into the 'correct' weight category. That being said, it is a fairly random scale that does not take into account muscle mass (i.e. body builders would show up as highly obese) or frame.

You're not fat at all! Yeh okay, you're not the skinniest Mary-Kate out there, but that's perfect. Firends don't lie, they tell you the truth, if they say you need a healthier diet, then you might be chubby, but you have a nice body! Although you are short for your age, you have a good weight. I'm 5"3, 12, and I weigh 80pounds. but when you're older you have heavier muscles and bones, so you are perfect. If you are still in doubt ask your doctor, and anyways they always inform you if you are over-weight! Be proud of your body, be healthjy not stick-figure!

Good luck!

You don't have to. But if you think it will make you feel better do it. I have the same situation except I'm a bit taller and my measurements are slightly different. But I lost weight because it heleped my self esteem. Not because I needed it

Sounds like you might be overweight according to height and age established criteria, consult a physician and do it from a medical standpoint and not how you look, remember that eventually your metabolism will slow and then you will not be able to work with your weight as easily.

You don't need to loose much. You might want to loose 20 to 15 pounds. Eat healthy and exercise it will make you feel better too.

Don't lose weight, just tone up your body with a bit of muscle and you will look and feel alot better. It doesn't take much. A couple of milk jugs filled with water will do wonders.
