Though naturally the answer depends on your local state and in some cases even county laws, as well as any unions you may be a member of, with out the added protection of either of those entities, federal law states that you can work 7 days in a row. However, at more than 8 hours in one day or 40 hours in one week, they are required to pay you overtime.

Are you an at will employee? Do you have a union?


Most states only require that you have 8 consecutive hours of rest before the next shift you work.

Anything over 40 hours is considered overtime unless your a farm worker. So with overtime they can work you as long as they want! The overtime part makes most employers not over work employees too much.

It depends if it's the seventh day in the schedule week, or just seven straight days. It happens all the time. If you're a minor, then there are laws against too much work.

Probably. It really depends on the labor laws in your state. In California the 7th day is overtime. It may be time to find a new lawyer.

I worked 90 days straight once. I ended up quitting becuase there was no overtime and I needed a break.

yeah at my job they work sometimes 10 days straight no day off but they space out your hours so you don't go over 40 so no over time. There is no law against it
