If there is a scale for measuring physical pain, what natural pain would be the worst? I'm not talking about torture methods, just natural pain. Maybe kidneystones?

Physical pain, people, not emotional pain. I know pain is relative, but surely there is a way to measure the extent of strain the nervous system goes through during physical trauma. Is there?

NO. The most Pain anyone can exp. is when you blow a disc out in your spine also known as a disk herniation. All the muscles in the area go into a full contraction with no way to get it to stop. it feels life several daggers all being stuck in your backside all at the same time. If you dont pass outfrom pain, then you have the problem of trying to figure out how to get your diaphram muscles to un -contract so you can take your first breath when possible.

Pain really is relative-I always thought a toothache was the worse-but then I got Epyditomitis and OH MY LORD--This pain is truly terrible--But then I stuck a clothes hanger in my eyeball while trying to unlock my car door after locking my keys inside.--That was worse!--But then recently I had kidney stones and so far that has been the worse pain of all.--It is the only time that I have had pain so bad that it caused me to throw up from it.--My nurse said she had stones once and they were actually worse than child birth. I also am in remission from advanced prostate cancer and it has not caused me much pain, although some cancers do cause great amounts of pain.--I also have had heart surgery where the operation was done completely by a guide and wire inserted in an artery in my upper thigh.--It had some moments, but never approached even the pain of a toothache.--I am also disabled with spinal stenosis of the central canal and have to be on opiates 24/7 and sometimes the pain gets close to the pain of kidney stones even with taking the pain meds.--But I have to believe the worse pain we as humans will ever feel is if we go to hell when we die. Imagine burning in the hottest fire that there is possible to be in, forever throughout eternity, without let up.

I've had it. I've had many kinds of pain related to most of the major (and minor) parts of my body. The worst was an infected tooth. No, really. I fainted from the pain. (Which I also did in high school from cramps, but that was before they legally existed. In the 70's menstrual cramps were still "in our heads". They gave us Darvon, a Lilly drug that ended up being only super aspirin. Yeah, I coulda told 'em that.) The tooth pain actually obliterated my sight and could be felt through the overdose of pain pills I took.

Pain goes from 0-10 If a road roller goes over your foot you experience pain 10 If it goes over the other foot it does NOT increase . The brain can only take so much.

I remember reading about a snake (I can't remember the exact species ... was it "Water Snake", "Sea Snake"...?), which can grow to ridiculously huge lengths, and its poison is so strong that the usual human response is to - within a fraction of a second of being bitten - have such strong convulsions that they snap their own spine in several places before dying... Now I'm guessing that if the nervous system has time to register anything during that fraction of a second, then THAT'S GOTTA HURT
PS: It involves animals, so I think this qualifies as "natural pain"...

My worst pain was toothaches. It was worser than child birth. Every night when i would try to sleep, that tooth would start throbbing. That was the most pain i have ever had.
