That depends on what kind of life you want to live and the neighbors you want to be near. In California you will find warm weather, will be close to the ocean and the mountains, will find people friendly and helpful. In new York, you will find variable weather with horrible winters, will be close to the ocean cold as it is there, and the worst thing of all is you have a good chance of having Yankee fans for neighbors. I guess California wins by a wide margin. No contest.

I live in California, my advice though: don't go down too far south, the further you go, the more it's like Mexico and not so much America...
!f you like apartments, then go to New York. But I heard they have bad weather.
I'd go for New York (I don't think the immigration thing is that big over there).
edit: and contrary to popular belief, New York is the politest state in the U.S. (Reader's Digest :b)

I like New York State. It's where I live. I love the changing seasons. But, I've never been to CA so I can't judge if I'd like to live there or not.
