To boot from a boot disk all you have to do is have it in the drive when you turn the puter on. The puter checks for disks in the drive before it boots from its hard drive.
If your puter doesn't boot from your boot disk, it isn't the right boot disk for your operating system.

When you want to boot from a CD, you have to go into the BIOS and change the boot configuration. Make your CD drive the first boot device and press F10 to save your configurations and exit the BIOS. Your computer will restart and it should boot from the CD.
