what do broadband technicians get paid?

Funny, you should ask, I moved into a new house and while the Technicians were setting up my internet, i asked them the exact question. (but in french), this is what they told me(exact words):
Q: Hi sir, how much do you get paid, just out of curiosity?
T1: Well, here in Quebec, we make about 18 bucks an hour, plus commission.
T2: That addes up to about 45,000 to 50,000 (canadian) a year, plus commision.
Q: Well, how much do other techinicians in other province paid?
T2: We are more lucky in Quebec, or else we surf too much. In the other province, I think the average salary is,like 42000 and maybe more in the US, cant be sure.
T1: Each company pays differently, I know a company that pays as little as 10 bucks and hour and as much as 20. Commison is usually 10 bucks for each cable/internet installed.

They get paid in cash, or more formally, money.

Most work on comission, however on average they get about $35K to $45K a year.
