It's called the "World Series" and there are over 200 countries without a team. Canada isn't the only team that doesn't have a soccer team. I didn't even know they had a team, I hate soccer.

Well, it's Canada's choice to have a soccer team. But all the countries who have soccer teams have to be accepted and all that. Then a variety of teams from around the world are chosen and it kind of leads to the "World Cup". When countries from around the WORLD are competing.

Canada does have team, they just werent good enough to qualify to the main tournament. 2 years before every cup, all the countries who have a team, compete in qualifying matches in their confederation. Only 3 or 4 spots are give to each confederation, weeding out the bad teams.

canada didnt make it through the qualifying round. coz if all the teams around the world compete at germany for the world cup i dont think there would be enough room and it would take forever. so they eliminate the other teams first and only pick the top 32 countries who can compete at the world cup.

The only sport in canada is Hockey and Canadians are hockey fans..personal experience from my 4 yrs studying there. Thus Canada not qualifying for theses matches. Maybe they should get an awesome coach to teach them how to play..seriously if you look at Canada's stats when they went to the World Cup they did horrible...didn't even win a game...Plus I think it saves the country tons of money..LOL...

this is just the final stage of the world championship, which started in every region more than 2 years ago (south america, north and central amercia, europe, asia, africa, oceania), every region qualifies their best teams after a competition, and these are the 32 best teams, so that's why it's called WORLD CUP.
