The latest one GERMANY vs ITALY..... the last 2 goals were fabulous

The France/Brazil game was super - Brazil have been poor throughout this competition and France really showed them how to play!

Italy/Germany was also fantastic and a much more even game. I was hoping that Germany would win, but Italy deserved to win with the 2 late goals. The best person on the pitch was the ref who let the game flow really well without giving free kicks for every rough tackle, and in turn the players didn't roll about on the ground like they always do. Most people were back up on their feet in seconds and back playing football. Lets just hope the final is a good as this game.

The best match I enjoyed during the 2006 FIFA World Cup is the England vs. Portugal game. I liked it because the 3 overtimes and the penalty kick shootout made it exciting, but I still think England should have won.

hmm...
I think the two best matches since the quarterfinals started were 1) Mexico vs Argentina (which i think was the best -- despite Mexico losing :-(
2) Portugal and Holland - but that was more of a hockey/theatrics show.

In the early rounds I have to say that the comeback by the Aussies against Japan (3 goals in the last five minutes) and the
Saudi Arabia versus Tunisia 2-2 tie were really fun matches to watch. No real strategy, just pure, unadulterated "take it down the field and put it in the net" football like its supposed to be
played!!

Italy - Germany. Great football played by both teams, with Italy having the advantage over the whole game, and with a breathtaking ending that made me cry manly tears of joy.

After that; Germany - Costa Rica. Not the best football-wise, but non-the-less entertaining with plenty of goalmouth action.

Third place: Japan - Australia. First Japan gets a goal they do not deserve, then Australia fights back, and in eight magical minutes, they turn an unfair 1-0 to a breathtaking 1-3.

It has to be Italy vs Germany - havent seen a game like this in a long time! Mexico vs Argentina was good too. Also all the games Germany played in where quite enjoyable. Maybe this is due to playing on home soil - but I really hope the German team is continuing to play in the spirit they have shown here - the new style of the former giant can only mean a great win for the game in general! Viva Allemagne! Viva Italia! Viva Brazil! Viva Argentina! (these are the great football nations rigth now too me + Zidane, a man in its own class)

Well there were actually several matches i enjoyed. For example, the Germany versus Sweden and the Germany versus Argentina and Germany versus Portugal. Germany had a real big miracle when that goal went in in the last extra minute when they played Poland. Oh, another exciting game was the France versus Brazil. I'm SO glad that someone FiNALLY beat brazil! germany are a real entertaining team to watch; you can feel their passion for this game.
Ah yes, it has finally come to the final already! Now THIS should be interesting.

I think the best match in this World Cup so far has been France vs Brazil. Both teams were very good but alot of people thought that Brazil was definitaly going to win. So it was a pretty big upset when France pulled it off.

It had to be the Germany - Italy game yesterday...not just because the Azzurri made their way into the final but because it showed two of the world's soccer giants butting heads to really determine who is better. It was a hard fought game with both teams having chances to put it away before the overtime period. Although I am happy that Italia is in the final...I can safely say that the Germany - Italy game is the best in the tourney as of now!
