Yeah. Education depends on the teacher, resources, and how much work you're willing to put in. So that's 33.33% on the teacher's side. I've had really bad teachers, and my marks from them were worse than the the ones from another class with a better teacher (same subject).
The only that saved me from failing math miserably (or at least doing very bad) this year (I had a HORRIBLE teacher) was that I spent a whole month before exams going through the whole textbook myself.

As a Russian saying goes:
There are no poor teachers, only poor students.
Teachers are there to point out what you should learn and help you learn it, but only you alone can actually 'make' yourself understand it.
A teacher who has a similar way of understanding things to yours would certainly make the process of learning things easier, effectively by doing a lot of our thinking for you, but ultimately the responsibility to learn, as well as the ability to do it is in your hands alone.

I thought it was the teacher all through school. But one year i failed a class and had to repeat is again the with the same teacher.
I found the problem was i wasnt learning, she was teaching me how to learn, but i wasnt keeping my end of the bargin.
Teachers cant make you think.
