"pick up on heavy stuff?" Does this mean heavy lifting?

Unless you're anemic and get extra weak during your period, there is no reason not to do heavy lifting. It's a myth that women have to rest during "that time of the month", it's just another story circulated back in the day to keep women from doing too much on their own, and for some reason, people still believe it.

I find that strenuous physical activity during my period can actually relieve bloaty/crampy feelings, so go for it!
