Are there any particular attractions or restaurants you would recommend to a fellow traveler? I've never been to any of these cities, and I'd appreciate any advice I can get.

Rome is beautiful, many historic and beautiful sites like Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the many government buildings. Florence is the same, or better. Venice I wouldnt bother; very touristy, dirty and Dangerous! Watch your pocket anywhere you go. Don't eat the pizza, cause its not the same. If you stay a night, the hotels tend to point you toward a cheap, mediocure restaraunt. My suggestion, do it yourself.

No advice about attractions or restaurants (SORRY), but TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES b/c you never know if you'll get the opportunity to go back... It's worth it... ALSO, go beyond all tourist-y parts of the cities... Yeah, the main attractions are great, but the REAL city, the part where people who live there ACTUALLY go, that's the beauty... It gives you a brief glance into the lives of people from a different place... You might appreciate that more than the main sites... Have a great trip!

In London, don't rent a car, you can get around alot easier by using the subway. Venice is beautiful but sometimes the tide makes the canals smell like raw sewage. Also, take the trains from place to place across the EU.
