They don't. All nutients and body waste are transferred through the umbilical cord. This does, however, create a strain on the mother's kidneys.

Waste from a fetus is usually cleared through the umbilical cord. If a fetus has a bowel movement in the womb this is called "meconium staining". It is usually a very serious and ominous sign at birth because these children generally have been in respiratory distress. Meconium aspiration in the lungs is usually very bad because it almost always results in meconium pneumonia which must be treated very aggressively by antibiotics.

They urinate (that is what most of your amniotic fluid is made of..) but the closer you are too deliver your baby could have a bowel movement (meconin--that's the medical term) But if that is to happen that means there is stress on the fetus. The doctors have to get it out before they swallow it or it will cause an infection.

Babies do poop...............

About Meconium Aspiration
MAS can happen before, during, or after labor and delivery when a newborn inhales (or aspirates) a mixture of meconium and amniotic fluid (the fluid in which the baby floats inside the amniotic sac). Meconium is the baby's first feces, or poop, which is sticky, thick, and dark green and is typically passed in the womb during early pregnancy and again in the first few days after birth.

Its called meconium... happens when something stressful to fetus happens, like the parent falling or something.... doesn't happen all the time, but it can... can make the baby sick because of the poop in the amniotic fluid. Would you want to eat your own poop?

Baby's urinate from early pregnancy. During labor if a baby is stressed, they can have a bowel movement (meconium).

They don't eat with their mouth. The baby is connected to the Mom through the umbilical cord. This enables him to get everything he needs through the blood that flows from the placenta (source of nourishment), through the umbilical cord to his body. When a baby is over due though..it can happen that he starts digesting things that go into his mouth.

They don't poop, but the amiotic fluid is the babies urine. But because they don't eat or drink anything we do it's sterile!

With the anus. Fetuses do not deficate much while in the uterus, but it does happen. They take in nutrients and eliminate just as any other living organism.
