How old should a child be before he/she can have a pillow to sleep on? 3 months, 6, a year?

Personally, I wouldn't until she/he is sleeping in her/his own bed rather than in a crib or the parents' bed. They're usually fine without one--better, in fact. And, until at least a year old, a pillow could be a suffocation hazard (*not* a SIDS risk).

A pillow can be dangerous. It's filled with solid material that could suffocate your child if he/she gets under it. Babies aren't able to always figure out how to get something like that off their face or out of their way. They don't know the difference with a pillow so why give it to them if it could be dangerous? I would wait until 3 years old.

Yikes, that is one aspect to observe a 5 month in one day or only for some hours. i do not study this baby yet at that age my youngsters each from time to time wakened distinct cases in the course of the nighttime - has she instructed something about this youngsters sound asleep habit? i'd propose you reassess doing an overnighter with a 5 month old - that is distinct paintings and it type of feels like the words keep replacing. i'm certain that you're an outstanding babysitter yet I nevertheless imagine his mom is taking income of you by asking you to observe him in one day. he will be someplace it really is unfamiliar to him to be sound asleep all nighttime - incredibly a lot a provided that he will be waking up i'm afraid. that is plenty to ask of all people, now to not teach a 13 3 hundred and sixty 5 days old. that is superb she trusts you a lot yet this can be slightly a lot.

l would not suggest it until they are 1 year old. Just to play it safe, I still get nervous over my little girl sleeping on her stomach, I check on her all the time. And they do advice that NOTHING be in the crib all all to prevent suffocation, I would be on the safe side and skip the pillow altogether right now. That is just me though it is your child and you do what you feel is comfortable for you and your bay.

No Pillows absolutely not. Use nice comfortable sheets and blankets to cuddle that new born and such. If that baby rolls over we do not want anything blocking that air passage way.

Did you know that I hate Cats and the reason why is that Cats have no idea what they are doing when they try to lick the milk from a babies mouth and end up suffocating the child.

I thought I would mention that for your future education.

You should wait till after a year old...babies can suffocate especially when they start moving around in their beds. They are fine without pillows.

My children slept on a pillow the first day they were born.
Make pillow their size, like the one on the airplane.
Make sure you have bigger pillow place against his/her back and remember to rotate the baby (left side, right side).

probably closer to a year. I have three nephews I watched grow up and I don't think you should use pillows for a while.
