Even if you are truely in love, this situtaion will not end up good if you continue the relationship. Because of the family values that she has inherited through her Hindu/Indian relations...it will be heartbreaking for her to do this. Since she has already agreed to this marriage (if she really wanted to....she wouldn't have had to) it would not be a good idea to strain an already chaotic marriage with an affair. You also have to remember where she is right now. Being in the US you can't truely understand what kind of physical and emotional danger she could be in if she did. Let her figure out what she is going to be in her life...with her family or with you. Then let her come to you.
As for your questions...
a) no. This is her culture, and if you ask most hindu people...it is a priviledge to bestow honor onto one's family like that.
b) It isn't not a crime.
c) Arranged marriages have been around since the beginning of time, and actually have been working for most of society. It is completely legal...even here in the US.
d) Probably not. Look into it a little bit more...not every country has strict guidelines like the US. If she was married in the US....then she would have to. A lot of foriegn countries hold divorce proceedings almost like property cases.
e) Honestly, she is. If she grew up in a tradional household...she would've known that this day would come. She should've know that falling in love with someone that her family didn't pick out for her would end badly.
Either way...I understand that it sucks...but you are going to have to think rationally.

is it a sin, yes, because marriage is under god, and law so that makes it a crime as well, marriage is also a legal document. it is not legal. no Eve cannot marry Adam without divorce proceedings because being married to two people at the same time is a crime. who is to blame, Eve, because she did'nt really have to marry Nutty. Eve could have said no and came to the united states if that was wat she really trully wanted to do which obviously she did'nt. So Adam should forget about Eve and find someone else who will do what she wants and not what her parants want.

A) yes it is a sin to continue a relationship while being married to another.... ADULTERY
B) I am not sure it is a crime from the legal aspect, but it is a moral crime if you ask me
C) Is what legal? The relationship? The forced marriage? If she consented to the marriage, IT IS LEGAL
D) She is married to NUTTY. She must divorce him BEFORE she marries ADAM
E) blamed for what? the marriage to NUTTY? She is to blame for marrying him. She gave in to her parents wishes and went along with this "forced" marriage. Ultimately, the blame must fall on her shoulders.

Those of us in the rest of the world can't comprehend arranged marriages. I feel really bad that so many young people in your culture are straddling between two worlds.
As I see it there are two choices. #1 do what your society and faimily tell you to do and try to make life as happy as you can be.
#2 Take a step to change things if only just for herself.
I am not sure what it would take. I assume there would need to be a divorce before marrying the man she loves. It might be hard to pull away from tradition and a persons own family- and only your friend knows if she can surrive with being in an arranged marriage or she needs to stand up for herself.
I am rooting for Asam & Eve to have their Happy Ever After

Yes it is a sin. It is a crime and not legal. No Eve cannot marry Adam while being married to someone else. It seems to me that it would be Eve's fault she should have stood up to her parents. But with her being in a different country it is hard to say.

Forget about blaming anyone. Its just circumstances. Tell Adam to come to India or arrange for eve to go to usa on holiday. then live together until she gets a divorce. It is a sin, crime, illegal. But all is fair in love and war.

Hi tuzi eve mala jara murkh vaatate. If this couple is RC then they cannot get divorce because in India Roman Catholics cannot get divorce if they are married in church. If they are married under Special Marriage Act then there is no problem in getting divorce. On the first place she should have eloped with her lover before marriage.

Blame it on the computer. Then write everything down as it transpires as I think we have the makings of a good television series here.
