Sorry didnt mean to scare. Contractions are what makes your belly feel tight. Normally the practice kind dont hurt. That isnt to say they cant---but usually not. You mentioned pelvic area pain----contractions can cause that area to hurt it feels like pressure, tight feeling with the pain.
