Looking back at past few decades anything from
pop to disco and big hair metal had their share at the spotlight.Now there is alternative.How about another ten years?What do you think music will progress into?

Well, you can't really say Alternative is in now. If you wanna be a smug Hollywood movie critic, you can say that. The alternative is just that becuase it's music with a different sound then the Main Stream. Alternative changes as the Main Stream changes.
But the thing about it is you have bands like Green day that back in their old days were alternative. Im talking about mid-90's. Back when they wore green and the drums were all green. That was them in their Alternative days. Now they jumped into Main Stream when they released American Idiot.
thats how I see it. bands that are alternative probably try to stay that way because thats what they like to play.

let hope rap ends as soon as possible, thats all i gotta say. & i agree, techno is gonna be the next "in" music style, or something to an 80s kind of beat.

I'm pessimistic. I believe we will be flooded with more of the lowest hip-hop and reggaeton sh*t, more electronic music becoming less and less meaningful and more lyrics completely written to get teenyboopers into buying more crap.

I agree I think house and trance are going to blow up. I think there will be more people with that different sound too...sort of like Gnarles Barkley, who I happen to really like.
