it depends on the baby.
some babies get scared but then some dont.
if you are really worried about bringing him, maybe you should just watch it on television instead of going to see it yourself.

It really depends on how your baby reacts to noises. If you keep a quiet house normally, the loud noises will startle and wake her.
If she's accustomed to a noisier life, they might not bother her that much.
My younger children slept through the fireworks. They were already used to the older childrens' loud mouths even before they were born.
Keep in mind fireworks safety for babies:
1. OFF is not for babies, even the children's kind. Your baby is too young! Per him in a stroller, with netting to protect from mosquitos. Even if you go to a park that was pre-treated, there is still chances of getting bit.
2. Don't go where there may be fallout, even if on the lake. My niece got burnt years back from a mistake by the park, and she still has a scar from it. It hurt a lot!
3. Bring an extra bottle - sometimes if you go to a larger park, it can take a loooooong time to get outta there.

Didn't scare our baby, but we were sure he had little ear plugs. The noise can damage his hearing. He was confused and a bit excited but not frightened. That was 3 years ago.
When he was 1, he was very excited and loved every minute of it.
When he was 2, it was weird because he had lost much of his naievety and knew "fear", so he was more stand-off~ish and even a little afraid, but still went along for the show.
At 3, he's an ol' veteran of fireworks and really loves them, but he's still cautious when they get too close, or if he's holding one (like a sparkler... he'll hold the stick tight at the very end of the handle with 2 fingers. It's funny, but I'm glad he's so aware of the possible danger of burns).
One thing I'm mostly concerned about now, is his lack of understanding of the risk of fire. Thank goodness for child-proof lighters. *heh*
Happy 4th!

Every kid is different, I know two year old's that are scared of fireworks, because of the loud bang. Personally, I would wait awhile to the child is a little older before taking him to see fireworks.

You know your baby better than anyone. Some babies who get overstimulated just fall asleep. Some hate loud noises or bright lights. But some babies are fine with all of it. There is just no way to know--except to guess based on your experience living with him. My daughter slept through fireworks at a few months old, and loved them until she was 3--that was when she started getting scared.

there is not a lot thanks to inform merely before time if the fireworks will scare her or not. you may want to get a contact although, through asking of your self if loud, unexpected noises scare her now? If not, she will be merely nice with fireworks. some toddlers are terrified, some do not care. If she cries at the same time as the fireworks commence, i'd advise merely leaving without delay and quietly. solid success!

I am very concerned that they will hurt his little ears and scare him. Last year the fireworks we saw hurt MY ears, and I'm an adult! I have experience with infants and I would not take one that young to a fireworks display. Stay home with him and plan on going next year; just to be on the safe side. Better yet....call your pediatrician and ask him/her!

when my daughter was 3 yrs. old she got real scared because they were real loud. she is 6 now. Even when she was 5 she wasn't scared. But as a baby she was scared. It is jjust according to the child. Some children that aren't startled easy or shy might not have a problem with them.

How is your baby with loud noises? Does your son do OK with the vacuum? If not, then I wouldn't take a chance and take him to see fireworks.
My daughter, who is 11 mo., only flinched at the ambulances and firetrucks today at the parade. Noise doesn't bother her at all!

Depends on the baby!! My first child cringed until he was 5 y.o.my 14 month old LOVES THEM! I would just cover his ears and just be relaxed about it. I think w/my little one he sees his older brother ooohhh and aaaahhhh so that sets him at ease. So if your baby see's you guys relaxing and enjoying and not stressing over if it will scare him...he will probably relax...hey he may even sleep right through them at that age!!!
Happy 4th!!

i think you child will love to see them but the loud bang will definitely scare him. i would recommend watching from a distance if you can and if you have anything to muffle the ears please use it to lessen the sound of the bang(ear plugs or ear muffs). of coarse keep him in your arms close so he feel protected. if you do go to a fireworks show and he starts to become scared please keep smiling so that he doesn't feel there is a danger and make your way away from the show.
