A warrior who had more than he needed would make a feast. He went around and invited the old and needy.... The man who could thank the food-some worthy old medicine man or warrior-said:".... look to the old, they are worthy of old age; they have seen their days and proven themselves. With the help of the Great spirit, they have attained a ripe old age. At this age the old can predict or give knowledge or wisdom, whatever it is;it is so. At the end is a cane. You and your family shall get to where the cane." Red Cloud,Oglala

Blood/genetics-wise, I'm not anywhere near being native, but I do live in Canada and I hope I've got my information accurate, so I can help you get started on it. They're basically a peaceful culture who uses nature moderately in order to survive. They call it "living with nature."

For example, up in Alaska, Yukon, and Northwest Territories area (really cold areas is where I'm trying to get at), they do hunt seals and it is legal for them to do it. But thing is, one seal can last them for months because they use the entire seal and waste nothing. They use the skin for a coat, let's say, and the meat inside can feed them for months. The only problem with why the rest of the world are banned from hunting seals (except for a specific period of time), is because they overdo it and they end up killing hundreds of seals just so they can make one fur coat for someone rich enough to buy it. So you be the judge on that. I hope this helps.

Hi

the original inhabitants of the Americas were as diverse as the different cultures and nations of Europe; from the Inuits of Alaska to the Fueginos of Tierra de Fuego in South America.
This link is about the Tainos, the original inhabitants of Boriken (the name Puerto Rico had before Columbus "discovered" the island. ) I hope it will help you.
