heights. well more like falling. lets face it if you ever been somewhere high up, especially a man made structure and the you feel a wobble you know that if you where to fall you are more likely to die and there's nothing you can do about it.
i think in just about any fear for the most part, the fear is because of your lack of control of the situation and knowing it could result in death.
even someone scarred of the boogie man coming from their closet. most know it's unrealistic but to that person the fear is real and so is the treat with lack of control of what can happen.

Dying a slow death or dying of cancer. My best friend died when I was very little & I still cry about it because I remember going to visit her, especially the last time I saw her alive. Her mind was pretty much completly gone! She sat and staired off into space & she didn't even remember me. & I think that's probably what haunts me the most was how much pain she suffered for so long & slowly forgeting everything until there was nothing left. My best friend died of a brain tumor.
Sincerly,
Giggles

My biggest fear is spiders. They're hairy and have too many legs.

Being put in a mental hospital because I've seen how horrible the people in them get treated and I know that once you go there, you'll only become more insane and never get let out...

earthquakes. Because you never know when they will happen. (I'm from So. Cal.) I am also afraid of thunderstorms, because when I was a kid I saw this episode of Little House on the Prairie where lightning went through the window of their house.

I am painfully shy and even telephone conversations are difficult for me. Ironically, I also hate to miss an oppurtunity to get to know someone.

and murky water as well. i will not swim in water if i can't see all the way to the bottom. there could be all kinds of strange or dangerous creatures.
oh, and being left behind. for example, if everyone in the world sailed away, leaving me alone for the rest of my life.
