they haven't released an issue since May 2006 with Jonathan Rhys Meyers on the cover. did they go bankrupt or something? if so, what other men's fashion magazines would you recommend that's as good as Cargo?

Conde Nast folded the title this year as it was unprofitable for them. Cargo was very unique - there was nothing like it. In terms of fashion magazines for men, GQ is your best bet. (Cargo was more than a fashion magazine - it focused a lot on gadgets.)

Conde Nast CEO Robert Townsend has announced the end to its male-oriented shopping title, Cargo. Townsend said that while readership was “encouraging,” business expectations were not being met by the market.



Market analysts were surprised by the decision, saying that ad pages seemed to be doing well. On the other hand, though, Debbie Solomon, senior partner and group research director for Mindshare, indicated that the Cargo fold may be due to the saturation of the men’s magazine market. She also stated that while women’s shopping titles, such as Lucky and Shop, Etc. do well in their market, men aren’t into the “browsing” idea Cargo propels
