This happens to me too sometimes. Though it is hurtful and downright rude, it does happen. I have come up with my own reason for it, though I am not sure that it is entirely true.
People talk behind people's backs for many reasons. Sometimes they are jealous or mad at the person. Sometimes they spot a flaw that you have and like to gripe about it.
We all say we know that people are not perfect. Though, when people talk about someone's flaws behind their back instead of talking to the person about it, they are saying that you should be able to meet all of their standards. In other words, they are saying that we should be perfect.
I am someone who is very eager to please people. I used to spend my time changing myself around people to become what they wanted. I would learn what they liked and what they didn't like. I would then change what I acted like when I was around them. But it got to the point where I was around too many people and so I kept messing up. One of my best friends talked behind my back. I got upset.
Then I learned that I was doing the wrong thing. That I should just be myself.

There sad with there lives and the only thing that makes them happy is for them to talk behind backs.

cause people always do it..caus of jealouse..cause of such habbit...think of this as a complmet..if you wouldn't be successful in your life they would not talk of you..but obviously they envy you something they cannot have..thats the reason..the best thing is to eitehr do teh samey so that they feel uncomfortable..co aht can see or hear that..or to tell this in public when they hera this..for example my friend was in such a situation in her company..so during lunch with coworkers she told aloud that some peopel here are misbehaving..but she forgives them cause it is because they are too stupid to stop this..people were so ashamed cause they fought she didn't knew bout this..that they stopped doing this..

They could be jelous of you, or you are cut from a different cloth ,and you need to make new friends who can relate to you who are like you.
