Is it really that abnormal for me (a 26 year old) to genuinly enjoy music from my mothers era? Example: Jim Croche, Simon & Garfunkle, Bread, Aerosmith even the ocasional Niel Diamond?

No, this means that you have become a more mature listener, for instance, I believe that you hated that music when you were younger, the reason is you couldn't relate to it, but now that you are older and have experienced some things in life, you can appreciate that type of music now. I know I felt the same way with my dad's music when I was younger, but now I cherish them(lol). I hope that was helpful.

No, I use to hate listening to my parents' music when I was a kid, but when I got in my teen years, I loved it. Now, I can't live with out it. I love the Isley Brothers, Frankie Beverly and Maze, EWF, Parliament, all of the soul bands and artists like Marvin Gaye and Al Green. It's just you really appreciate good music, and that's what my mom use to always say, you should appreciate this music because most of the artists you like, it's where they get their music from too. My favorite artists love to sample these guys. I don't think it's weird at all.

NO! Music is Music.

My Mom used to go to Chicago, Santana, and Beach Boys concerts back in the 60's and 70's. I really enjoy these groups, and I'm a huge Chicago fan.

I LIKE MUSIC! And if you like those songs and artists that your mom likes, good for you. It's good to have something in common with your parents.

No! I'm 27 and I find have a combination of musical tastes from my mom and dad--along with plenty of my own. I love Jim Croce--particularly Time in A Bottle.

no, im probably your moms age, or close to it and my son likes the music that i listen to and hes 20.. id worry just a little about the neil diamond stuff tho, too much will curve your spine, prolong the war, and definitely keep the cubs out of the race for the world series.

I like some of my mother's music. And also, I like a lot of music my grandmother listened to. So... not so unusual. You learn over time to appreciate music (whether or not you like them, or ever did.)

The best music holds up over time. If it sounds good, it is good.
