Making Beats?

i really need help with my beats. Im ok at it. I really need help with melodies.I use Fruity Loops 6. Can somebody tell me some good instruments i should download and how to make better melodies?

I would switch to using PROPELLERHEADS REASON 3.0 or NATIVE INSTRUMENTS BATTERY instead...
