I just attempted to feed ours some and it went nuts. I was told by my girlfriend that I should be careful and I removed it but wow did she love it.

I just hope it does not kill her or something. I will report back on her health here later tomorrow. It could be a whole new treat for them!

The hamster is fine and she really seemed to love them at first until Itook them out of her cage. Oh well, just thought it would be a nice treat.

Tiny amounts, on the odd occasion will not harm her and the increased variety would be good for her. Fresh water shell fish is preferable to salt water.

Hamsters are SO NOT herbavores. They are Omnivores, which mean they eat meat and vegetables. Hamsters need a balanced diet, (but no sweets, go easy on them), So not too many oysters, make sure theyre cooked. I like that idea! Maybe I should try that with Mysty sometime. Nice one! Really!

all i have to say on this subject is that hamster ARE NOT HERBIVORES!!! THEY ARE OMINIVORES!!! HECK they will eat their young, and last time I looked baby hammies are MEAT!!! your hammy should be just fine you said she loved it & is fine right?? Then there you go!!! :D meat, fruit, veggies, all are fine for hammies!!!

okay all you know it alls read this then::
Crickets and mealworms are a good source of protein for hamsters. After all, they are omnivores: like us. In the wild, hamsters eat insects whenever they find them.
Hamsters, in general, like almost all kinds of food. They can eat anything from dog food, shrimp, pie, candy, brussel sprouts, strawberries, hay, chocolate, bugs, etc. And because of this adaptability to generally all the types of food we ourselves eat, common hamsters are able to live and thrive in a very harsh enviornment with scarce amounts of food: the desert.

no...fresh oysters only after they have been left in water with another dead hamster in you refridgerator over night
Yesac, I don't suggest this at all. One, a dead hamster can contaminate the food and cause harmful diseases that you and your hamster can get.

The oysters themselves can cause concentrate Vibro, a fresh water disease.
