Earlier it used to be bet.Now both bet and beat itself are used as the simple past tense form of beat.So it is beat,bet/beat,beaten

Simple past: beat
Past Participle: beaten

Example (simple past): Yesterday I beat the dust out of the rug.
Example (past participle): I have beaten the dust out of the rug.
