Compared to Sofia Coppola in "The Godfather Part III," Madonna is an Oscar winning actress!
Seriously, sometimes Madonna can do good in a film ("Desperately Seeking Susan," "Evita,") and sometimes she can do bad, like in "Body of Evidence."
She just needs to give up on the acting thing and stick to music where her fan base is bigger.

People say she's a bad actress because she's a successful singer and people generally dislike the singer/actress combonation because they feel it has to do with the singer making money and publicity. No, she's not the best actress, but she's not worth dissing just because she's also a successful singer. I like Madonna and I would watch a movie with her just as soon as I would watch a movie with my favorite actresses.

She not a great actress, but she is a compelling personality. That's why it's hard for her-- she has such a strong persona-- it's hard for her to disappear into a character. I think that's why the roles closest to the public perception of her are better recieved. I thought she was quite funny in "league of their own" and in "dick tracy". But her best performance is as "madonna" in "truth or dare". She's fascinating to watch in that film.

Yes. Although she does tend to do a better job when she portrays characters close to herself. Don't get me wrong, I am not Madonna bashing, I love her music. She is very talented. I think her best movies are Evita and Desparately Seeking Susan.

Actually i think the critics are being nice,she is the worst ever!The only one almost as bad is Meg and Jennifer Tilly and Melanie Griffith,if you don't believe watch one second of the one with Madonna and harvey Keitel,Ithink it was Bad Leiutenant.

She is not the greatest. But I really liked her in desperately seeking susan. Film critics are over rated.
