i was once emo and it was a very tough experience for me!! i had inner demons which tourched me deep within!!!!!!!! i longed for acceptance and clarity of the meaning of life... josh grobans lyrics gave me the strength to overcome my demons.. care to comment???????

Why do emo people hate themselves? No, that's just the dark side of the music, right? What does emo mean to you? To some it's just a fashion trend. But for gosh sakes, I wear Vans too. My son's hair hangs over his eyes (he's 17) and he wears emo shirts, but he's all WOW all the way. Do you mean that you were emotionally unstable and liked to cut yourself at some point in the past, and that people didn't understand you and ridiculed you for that? I like punk, but my taste runs more to the Ramones. I'm glad you overcame your demons. Josh Groban's voice and music are completely uplifting. Listen to Si Volvieras a Mi - even though the words are sad, the beauty and hope of the music will make you happy.

i was emo
people dont understand the fact that us emo people have feelings
we express them anyway we can
its not how we dressed or if we were sad
people dont accept people who are diffirent
but see alot of the time it is posers
emo is a lifestyle in a way just like if you are a jock or whatever
you dont become emo you feel it
and i know i have been depressed my whole life
and you take you emotions out either its sad or happy
i wish people would stop all the s**t cause its not worth it
be emo be whatever be who you are who you feel is right for you
dont let anyone get to you

because it sucks. Yeah, ok, every emo kid thinks they're all alone. boo-hoo-hoo. we've all got the "inner demons", the rest of us just find a way to deal without being all weird and whiny.
oh yeah, and depression is a state of mind...if you really don't want to be depressed, you CAN will yourself out of it...some people just get stuck in a rut and don't look for a way out. It's out there, I found it. Just try harder, and quit the whining.

It's hard to see any friend hurting, and with emo kids, they feel pain all the time. People ignore them to get away from feeling depressed themselves. Lately though, pop culture seems to have absorbed some of it though =P

Because have u seen the boys that act emo??? THey look like fruits. Not that I hate gay people. But the dudes that are straight and are emo have their hair flipped over one eye. I mean come on, that **** looks so gay.

Emos are, as far as I can ascertain from my advanced years, a current youth movement/fashion like mods, punks, goths, etc. It's short for emotional, I think.
Like any youth movement, it's indecipherable bol/locks to anyone over 25, but pretty serious stuff to those living it.

i dont even know what emo kids are lol..i mean i've heard of them but what exactly is the definition of an emo kid..
see i am korean..and i am technically an emo kid..emo is korean for "aunt" and i have a niece and a nepheew...but im only 14..thus emo kid

"emo's" are hated becuase most of them try to b "emo" and are POSERS! not all "emo's" are Like that though. And emo originally ment "emotive hardcore" and It's a genre of music formed in the 80's. it's a sub genre of punk. not like simple plan or good charlotte punk.REAL punk like misfits, sex pistols, ramones...
