Driving down my street today I saw one house with a flag flying from their porch. The rest didn't care to put one up. You're getting a day off of work and it's too much trouble to show a little patriotism? What keeps you from flying your flag?

why do you need to fly a flag just to show your patriotism? i love this country and didn't fly a flag but i do think everyday about my freedom and appreciation of what people in our country are doing for our rights. But I don't need to fly the flag if i know for myself how i feel

I fly the American flag all the time on my property. Its comforting. I have noticed that generally its only those who have served their country in some way who fly the flag. Are the rest just ingrates?

I actually went out and bought a flag, since my husband and I just bought our house. But its too wet. Its been off and on raining all day. So the flag will stay in the box untill it gets sunny, so that my hubby and I can install it.

One: have no place to hang it, and
Two: dont own one, and
Three: I dont need to show my patriotism to BE a patriot. Thinking that you have fly a flag to be a true patriot is very unimaginative, and is essentially anti-american. Freedom of speech means that I am free to express my opinions, (including my patriotism) in whatever legal manner I choose. Thinking that something can only be expressed in ONE way and that ONE way only, denies variety and diverstiy and is ultimately a denial of our american privleges, which our patriotic forebears fought to give us.

So get off your high horse and try to explore different ways of expressing your patriotism. And stop thinking that your way is the only way.

Of course I did...there's nothing to lose and so much to gain from flying your flag up, so why not?

No, but only because we don't have one. If we did, it would be flown proudly in celebration of freedom and in support of our troops.
