First of all you have to check hardware compatibility. If your pc is capable of supporting XP, then the install disk is the only guide you need. It will walk you though each step fairly easy. Do not choose the upgrade option. You want to do a clean install. I would remove all existing partitions and create a new one. Format and install XP. And this looks interesting.

If your computer has less then 256 mb of ram and has less then 600 Mhz. I would advise you dont load XP. It would be like putting a 2000 lb trailer on the back of a VW bug
