In this 17th c sonnet, Death is told not to have pride, for his power is exaggerated and termporary, and the veracity of his might is rejected.

I'm not sure if I'll be on right when I'm able to choose a best answer, so, delay aside, Paul P is correct, though he did not name the poet. I'd wait for a complete answer, but after several hours and 2 tries, it's futile as far as I'm concerned. So Paul will get it when I'm able to select a best answer.
