It's like light years, measured as the distance a gay/lesbian travels in a year.
But seriously, I haven't heard that term before. Perhaps it's a disparaging remark on the ageism in parts of the community, such as "40 is 65 in gay years." Fortunately people of all ages can usually find people who are attacted to them.

I'm glad that Evy still lives in the stone age...
Before ther term gay was used to define same sex couples or same sex interests, it was used to define being happy.
And one other thing.... God is not going to punish you if you are gay... Evy grow up and get a life... And a brain while you're at it!

Like the "Roaring Twenties", there were the "Gay Nineties", referring to 1890, when "gay" had a simpler meaning.

i guess its when you start to become courious and expierimental witht he same sex. every one will get the thought in thier head that maybe they are attracted to the same sex, some act on it and some dont. its just you trying to figure out yourself. and if someone says that they have never thought of it then they are in denial

the 1890's were the "gay 90's". I guess it meant they were happy.

The same as Dog years.
Because HIV will approach to all those that are gay if they don't repent.
