For all of you people that think there is no reason for a vet to be homeless and that he should be able to come back home and go to work, you need to read the news article on yahoo news right now. Then you may want to modify your answers.

Not a damned thing. Why should he? He has what he needs, and he takes care of the rich, he doesn't care about American citizens, or military.

And why do they find thierself homeless ??

They have just been working, they live on base till thier discharge, And they have the use of the GI bill for education and other programs.

So I would say that if they are homeless they need to go to a shelter and get a new start. Since they must have not saved any of thier money while they were working in the military and not went to work after they got out.

Its mostly their fault if homeless some bad discharges some didn't save when in the service. Get real people have a certain amount of responsibility. Its not Bush's fault Its no one but them self. P.S. When you get a answer from someone that is in Caps, means they are shouting to be heard above all others because they don't know what they are talking about (most of them) Maybe Kennedy fans want government to support them> (taxpayer money) Check out the welfare offices. See bunch new big cars.

And how are they homeless? If they are still in the Military they will always have a place to sleep. If they have separated, what do you propose? Unless they were unable to make required rank there should be no reason for them to separate. If you quit a job, is it up to your previous employer to support you until you find another? What kind of an entitlement based generation are we building?

Not much excuse for a fresh vet to be homeless. Without insurance and reduced disability benefits if disabled is the problem actually.

Our soldiers don't work for free, you know. They are compensated for their work. And although I love and respect our military, I must point out that no one held a gun to their head and forced them to join the armed forces. I have all the compassion in the world for what they endure, but it's their job. Why are they owed more than the typical police officer or firefighter who loses their life in the line of duty?
