It may vary from state to state and you need to talk to an attorney for the state of the residence of the person seeking divorce. Notice of divorce is published in a newspaper and the person is served at their last known address. If they do not respond within the allotted time, then you can proceed. It can be done.

You will have to get an lawyer. And Post an ad in the news paper in the last known town that the person was living in. It depends on the state on how long you have to run the ad. But the lawyer will be able to find out everything you need to know.

i had this problem the lawyer told me they will attempt to notify them by using a last known address or the address of a family member, the person has 30 days to respond, i think you made a second attempt and then the divorce is granted anyway. i think this only works if there is nothing to fight about.

All you have to do is file then put an add in the local newspaper for so many days (each state is different) then go get it finalized no big deal just takes a little while longer is all good luck

HI If i where you i would put in for a legal separation while you are trying to find her. then if you can not find where she is after two years you can put in for a divorce without her.i know this sounds a long time to wait. but it could take Evan longer if you have no luck in finding her.and at lest if you do find her before the two years it will still be in your faver to be already separated. and if not you know after the two years you will have your divorce if you have no luck in finding her.hope this helps you and best wishes in your search.sammylee,

Too easy. You pay your solicitor to do this. Once you have filed the paperwork with him, all the rest falls to him.
