emo is kind of a lifestyle for kids who are depressed and/or emotional. they listen to sad rock music, dress in black, and look somber all the time. not quite the same as gothic, but similar.

Short for emotional : Bands like Grandaddy, Bright Eyes, Radiohead, et al. It's the love child ( in my opinon ) of Grunge and
the better music of the 80's i.e. Echo and the Bunnymen, the Smiths,Joy Divison, the Cure, etc.

No, It's all right. People will be immature right now, so be careful. They'll call them bad names. "Emo" is a way to refer to emotional. That means, the people are very emotional. It isn't bad. That's all.

and emo person is usually a person thinking about suicide without the stupidity or gut to do it. so they end up cutting there rists and staying away from everyone because they think that is will make it less painful when nobody wants to be with them... even though they are doing it to themselves

it is also a type of music
and a type of person.
GOD...you people need to stop judging emos...leave them alone. its so immature. AND no they dont think there cool they want to be different and left alone. they are sad and they cut themselves cause of certain reasons. LIKE...family losses or stress. so just stop it.

i went through an EMO experience for three years it was the most depressing yet deepest, inspirational time of my life!!!! nobody cared about me and what i was going through..Josh Grobans music released my demons and really changed my life check out some of his lyrics www.joshgroban.com
