Just got a Laptop (my first one) and want to know - if you plug it in and it shows it is on AC power - does that mean the battery is charging automatically, or do I need to go in somewhere or press a button? Please explain to me, someone !!!!!!!!

Usually, yes, it means that while you are running your pc on the direct power from your home supply it is recharging the battery automatically. But there always can be exceptions, it depends on what laptop you are using, it can be made in a way so you will always run it on from the battery and you can keep it charging also, like the mobile phones. But as much as I think it is okay in your case.

Just plug in the charger in the right place and it will charge automatically. Check on the taskbar on the bottom right. There should be an icon that tells you if its charging or not and how much its charged.
