I just saw a new study about tylenol usage. Do they not check this stuff out enough before they market it?? IS this another way of the government trying to control us??

Unfortunately, some drug effects take decades to appear. I didn't hear about the Tylenol study, but it is important to note that Tylenol is not aspirin.

Aspirin can cause stomach problems, but it is also a wonder for pain relief, and now it can help you survive a heart attack.

Thankfully, they now have low-dose aspirin to help your heart while not being enough to cause stomach problems.

I think the FDA does a great job, but they do have to weigh risks. If they had a new drug tomorrow that could cure cancer, should they wait 40 or 50 years to make sure there are no side effects, while countless millions suffer?

Aspirin is a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID) and those drugs whether prescription or over the counter can cause stomach problems up to and including ulcers so they must not be takes without food. Tylenol can become a problem if you drink alcohol on a daily basis. Bad for the kidneys. I still prefer aspirin for pain - Tylenol never worked for me anyway and since I have arthritis, I take nexium so the aspirin creates no problems for me. Best headache remedy though is an ice pack. No side effects at all unless it's cold int he room. Then you might not enjoy it so much.

hon, I got to tell ya....after years of aspirin use, and i'm talking serious aspirin use, i had my ulcers burst because of it. not a pleasant experience and yeah, i think the government is a cheapass, money grubbing conglomerate looking to make a buck. if the FDA can get more money from tylenol, Excedrin, alleve, yeah, they will tell you anything.

my doctor allows me 1 aspirin a day. the other otc
analgesics do not work for me. the doctor would be
happy to prescribe something for my arthritis, but all
of them have side effects worse than the possible
ulcers of too much aspirin. i have migranes and
arthritis, and i just suck up the pain.

If you read the labels there are disclaimers on the side. all medicines have side effects. The lesson here is if it is OTC ask your pharmasist before you use ...even Tylenol.

All drugs are unnatural and the ones that have no known side effects soon will. acetminophen has the potential to cause liver damage, that's long been known.
