It does to hurt, and if you are afraid of needles,..... This is a rod being pushed through your flesh! Your tongue swells up and you can barely speak. The pain goes a way, and the swelling goes down in a few days, but strick cleaning and care must be taken. Just think, your tonque has lots of bacteria, and now you have opened the flesh. Do more research than what you obtain from here.

I have had mine pierced 6 times... no they all aren't in there. I kept taking it out for various reasons. For a one time deal and not knowing what to expect: Take Ibuprofen about an hour ahead of time. They first place a very tight hemostat on your tongue, it applies a lot of pressure, it has a hole in it to put the needle thru. Close your eyes if you are scared the sight is worse then the feeling. As they stick the needle in it feels "hot" you immediately will start to drool. They will release the hemos and the pressure will ease off and your tongue will throb a bit. Then they thread in the new barbell and give you some antiseptic mouth solution. Listerine will burn like hell. I used Gly-Oxide oral cleanser. Then follow the recommendations of your body piercer.

MINE HAS NEVER GOT INFECTED, AND I LOVE MY TOUNG RING. MEN ON THA OTHER HAND ARENT TOO FOND OF IT. ERY; GUY THINKS B.C. THE TOUNG RING WILL BE BETTER ORAL. MY MAN LIKES A SOFT TOUNG, AND REQ. nah it dont hurt. it hurts more to bite ur tongue then it does to pierce it. u can hear it pop when it goes through but all u really feel is the pressure from the clamps that the have on ur tongue. after its done it will feel wierd because ur not used to it and u will have a big bar in ur mouth but after a while ur going to b thankful for it. i changed my ball after 3 days to a smaller bar and that helps a lot. the worst thing i did was chew ice because while my tongue was getting numb it started to hurt but after i stopped eating the ice it felt a whole lot better

i have my tounge pierced three times and the clamp hurt more to me than the needle you really cant feel the needle going in the clamp is real tight and it makes it had to really feel anything and if you keep your mouth clean and brush and flose your teeth properly then you shouldnt get infected

It's kinda creepy actually. It doesn't really hurt...it's more like wierd. You can feel the whole thing going through. It's so cool. Don't be scard. Just go for it.

It hurts a little, like when you bite your tongue. Also, you have to take into consideration that for about a month, there is going to be alot that you're not going to be able to eat, and you're going to be using listerine like crazy.. the tongue has a huge chance for infection, and you don't want that

It feels like pressure when you get it pierced, the days after (2 or 3) consist of extreme swelling and pain even if your tongue is kept clean. it is really painful to eat. If you do get it pierced be sure to rinse with alcohol-free mouthwash, and you can gargle with sea salt too...
