I don't know why the japanese wear blue, but the italians wear blue to honour their last king, vittorio emanuele II, and blue is the color of the house of savoy...

Blue was the choosen color of italian royalty way back in time.
italia is a republic now, but still go with blue(kind of like sports colors for a high school -mine were green and gold.
The Netherlands are orange for the same reason

Ghana wears white but our flag as u can see is red,gold,green with a black star.
